1. An aspirant should be a citizen of India.
2. An applicant for the Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy must be a graduate of a recognized University.
3. The aspirants of the Indian Naval Academy should possess a degree in Engineering.
4. The aspirants of Air Force Academy should possess a Degree from a renowned University or an Engineering graduate.
5. Application is open for unmarried candidates only. Female candidates who are Divorced or Widow can also apply for the CDS exam. The terms and conditions vary according to the circumstances and cases.
6.Male candidates are eligible only for INA/IMA/AFA/OTA and both male and female candidates are eligible for OTA.
7. Female candidates can apply only for OTA.
8. Male divorcee/widower will not be considered as unmarried.

1. Chest expansion range is checked with full inspiration with a minimum of 5 cms. X-Ray test should be for the chest to confirm clarity on any of the chest prone diseases.
2. Candidates should not have any disease related to the bones and joints of the body.
3. He or she should be mentally fit.
4. Normal hearing with an ability to listen to a forced whisper within 610 cm distance with no past history of any disease related to nose, throat, or ear.
5. He or she should not have any signs of functional or organic heart or blood vessel-related disease. Normal Blood Pressure with no traces of AIDS.
6. Well-developed abdominal muscles and no enlargement of liver or spleen. In case there will be any traces of disease in the internal organs of the abdomen then the application will be subject to rejection.
7. In case women candidates are found pregnant at any stage after selection at SSB or during training will be debarred by the Commission and the cost of training will be recovered from the candidate after confirming the relevant reports from Military Hospital Authorities.
