CAT exam comprise of total 100 questions having three sections with 75 MCQs with negative marking and 25 MCQs without negative marking. Each correct answer will be awarded with 3 marks and 1 mark will be penalized for every wrong answer.
- It is a computer based test (CBT) having 3 hour duration.
- CAT exam comprise of three sections of one hour each.
- Three sections are named as Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC); Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR); Quantitative Aptitute (QA)
- There are sub sections in the main three sections such as VARC comprises of Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension sub sections; DILR comprises of questions on Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning.
- CAT Exam follows sectional time limit. Candidates cannot move to another section before time.
- CAT will have Non-MCQs where candidates are required to type the correct answer on the computer.
- No penalty is allotted for any wrong answer in Non MCQS SECTION OF CAT EXAM.
- CAT releases its latest exam pattern a month before the exam therefore there is a dire need tp keep a close watch on the latest updates by the authorities before the exam.
