About RRBs
Indian Railways is the second largest railway system in the world. It is divided into 16 zones headed by a General Manager. Each zone is divided into different divisions and each division is headed by a Divisional Railway Manager.
RRB helps to fill up various vacancies of Railway Department from time to time. RRBs are the Railways Recruitment boards conducting Common Written Exams to employ new personnel for Indian Railways Department. These boards are linked with the Government of India. RRB is divided into 21 boards all over India to conduct exams for various posts which are divided into four groups as:
- Group A
- Group B
- Group C
- Group D
Group A employments are done through the Civil Services Examination and Combined Engineering Services examination. These examinations are conducted every year.

The selection process consists of three steps:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TESTS (PET)
- Document Verification and Empanelling of selected Candidates

Negative Marking: CBT will have a negative marking where a penalty of 1/3rd of the marks will be marked for each wrong answer.
2. PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TESTS (PET):
Candidates who will crack CBT will be entitled to appear for PET. The merit list will be prepared for the number of candidates which will be two times the community wise total vacancy of the posts released in RRBs. It is necessary to qualify PET as it is a qualifying test for the posts notified by RRBs.
