Educational Qualification:
Graduation Degree: The eligibility criteria for the RBI Assistant exam is a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) marks in any of the streams such as BA, B.Com, BSc, B.Tech, etc., from a University recognized by the Government of India. A candidate who possesses the same qualification from the university recognized by the Central Government is also eligible to apply for this exam.
Candidates should have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree:
The certificate supports that they are graduates on the day they were registered for the exam.
The percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at the time of registration for the RBI Assistant examination.
Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer operation is a must as the RBI Assistant exam is conducted online.
Language Proficiency: Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language.

Candidates applying for the RBI Assistant examination should be 20 years old but not more than 28 years old at the time of registration. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/12/1991 and not later than 01/12/1999 (both days including) are only eligible to apply. The selection process of RBI Assistant consists of 3 phases (preliminary, mains & Language Proficiency Test). The candidates must qualify each of them to go on to the next phase.
The important steps of the RBI Assistant Recruitment Procedure are as follows:
A sufficient number of candidates in each category are shortlisted by RBI depending upon the requirements for Online Main Examination.
Candidates need to qualify each section as well as the overall cut-off in the main exam to be eligible for the Final Selection.
The candidates provisionally selected from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned. Candidates not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
The above main online tests except for the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests of the online examinations

A candidate has to qualify in Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination). 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter for examination from the RBI’s website.

Roll No. of the candidates successful in the preliminary online examination will be made available on RBI’s website. The Roll No. of candidates successful in the main online examination will be available on RBI’s website and a brief notice thereof will be published on the Bank’s website.

Only such a number of candidates will be called for Language Proficiency Test who stands sufficiently high in merit on the aggregate marks of the Objective Tests, such merit being decided by the Bank in relation to the number of notified vacancies to be filled in.

The final selection will be on the basis of the candidate's performance in the online main examination, biometric verification and Language Proficiency Test taken together in order of merit.

Appointment of selected candidate will be subject his/her being declared medically fit as per the rules of the Bank.

Biometric Data- Capturing and Verification It has been decided to capture the biometric data (thumb impression or otherwise) and a photograph of the candidates on the day of the Main Examination for the candidates who qualify after the preliminary examinations and appear for the main examination.
The Final result is declared on the basis of the merit list in RBI Assistant Exam by RBI.
The provisional allotment of the eligible candidate is released on the official website. The RBI allot Banks to the candidates on the basis of the preferences they have made at the time of the online registration.
RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern
The RBI Assistant preliminary examination is of one hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections with having 100 questions in total with a maximum score of 100 marks. There is a negative marking in the RBI Assistant Pre exam as 1/4th marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates must clear the sectional cut-off to qualify for the RBI Assistant Main exam. The candidates must attempt the sections in the same order and within the allotted time fixed by the examining body. The candidate can’t leave the existing section before the time allotted. The next section can only be attempted after the current section is completed. There is a negative marking with a deduction of 1/4th marks for every mistake.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT):

Penalty for Wrong Answers:
A penalty for every incorrect answer will be marked in the Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. Every wrong answer will be penalized by deducting 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. in case, no answer is marked by the candidate.
Final Score Calculation for RBI Assistant Exam:
There are certain important points on the basis of which the final score for the RBI Assistant exam is calculated:

Marks scored in the Preliminary Exam will not be considered in the final score. These are only taken into account to qualify Mains Exam.

Candidates need to qualify the Main Exam and Language Test to be eligible for the final worth.
-
The aggregate of 100 marks is used for the final merit list for each category. Candidates with high merit rank in each category are finally selected.
Changes introduced in RBI Assistant 2024 Exam Pattern
This time like other banking examinations, RBI has introduced sectional timing in prelims as well. Now aspirants have to face sectional timing in both preliminary and mains examination. LPT round will also be conducted for the students applying from another state which is qualifying in nature.
RBI exam syllabus is similar to other bank exams except that RBI issues only the broad subjects, they can be further bifurcated into individual topics, based on the questions that have appeared in the exams over the past few years. The RBI syllabus is divided into two parts:

RBI Assistant Prelims exam will be held online in an objective format. The exam consists of three sections – Numerical Ability, Reasoning and English Language. Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of Rs 14650/- per month (i.e. Rs 13150 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates) in the scale of 13150-750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)-26200-1300 (2)-28800- 1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years) and other allowances,viz Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance, etc. as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants is approximately Rs 32528/- including House Rent Allowance @ of 15 %.

Ques 10) What is LPT?
Ans) LPT is a language proficiency test that the candidates provisionally selected from the main online examination will have to undergo. The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the state applied for. It will be conducted for those candidates who didn’t have the local language of the respective state as a subject in their 10th standard.
Ques 11) What are the total marks allotted to LPT?
Ans) No marks are allotted to LPT. It is qualifying in nature.
Ques 12) Is there a criterion for negative marking?
Ans) Yes, RBI has a negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.
Ques 13) Can one apply if he or she has yet to give the final year examination or result is awaited?
Ans)Yes, one can apply but they have to produce the proof of the educational qualification at the time of appointment. In case you are sure to qualify your final year exam you can fill the application.

Ans) Yes, one is eligible as the percentage criterion for RBI Assistant is a minimum of 50% (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
Ques 16) Can a candidate with 19 years old sit for the exam?
Ans) No, one must be at least 20 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as on the date of application.

Ans) Yes, the exam is bilingual i.e in both the languages English and Hindi.

Ans) RBI does not follow any fixed cut off for RBI Assistant. The performance level of candidates each year decides the cut- off of that particular year.

Ans) For all three sections, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and English Language, candidates will get 60 minutes. The section-wise will have 20 minutes time.
